About UK AI News
UK AI News covers the UK's artificial intelligence ecosystem: the companies building it, the money moving through it, the research pushing it forward, and the policy shaping it. We publish original, contextualised reporting, not aggregated summaries.
We exist because the UK has one of the world's most important AI ecosystems, and it deserves dedicated coverage that a general technology outlet cannot give it. We connect each story to the wider picture: what it means for a company, a sector, and the UK as a whole.
How we work
Our coverage is cumulative. Each article builds on the archive: a funding story references our earlier coverage of the same company, a product launch links to glossary entries explaining the technology behind it. Over time the site becomes a connected record of UK AI rather than a feed of headlines.
We always credit the original source of a story, with a link. Our value is context and curation, not claiming exclusives.
The directory
Alongside the news, we keep a directory of UK AI companies with structured profiles, cross-linked to our editorial coverage. Each company's page becomes a living timeline of what we have written about them. If you run a UK AI company and want to be listed, or spot something we have got wrong, get in touch at [email protected].
Who runs it
UK AI News is written and edited by Leon Mallett, its founder and editor, and published by Captivated Ltd. Leon is the founder of Captivated, an AI-first software and research studio, and COO of a B2B software company he helped grow to more than 4,000 business customers and over two million users. He covers UK AI as someone who builds and ships AI software himself — not just reports on it — which is the perspective this site is built around.
We take the subject seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. How we source, verify, and correct our reporting — and why advertising never influences our coverage — is set out in our editorial standards. To get in touch, see our contact page.
